I have all my crash dump files (21 hours of play, a crash about every 10 minutes or so), but like I said, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the crashes. The only thing I've noticed is that anytime it has crashed and I verify the game files it says there was 1 file that needed to be reacquired.

I have all the DLCs but no other mods installed, I've tried a fresh install of the game and a fresh install of windows, neither helped. I've had crashes during missions, while editing soldiers, a couple times while launching (like, I clicked play and got the error window instead of the game), once while viewing a soldier's abilities when I hadn't touch the game for a couple minutes (I was talking to my brother in law). It crashes every 5-30 minutes while playing, but there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the crashes. I've been having this problem randomly, but consistently. I'm really upset now, but if someone can help me on this, I would be way less upset ! I've spent half my workfree day trying to find a fix for a game I could run perfectly yesterday.

Got the game back to full Vanilla : Crashes.Disabled Shen's Last Gift in steam : then I launched a new game.Deleted config folder : unfortunately, no files were downloaded back, and I couldn't even launch the game. Many files were downloaded, but yet it still crashes. Verified cache integrity : many times.Disabled all mods : crash at the end of the mission. So far, I've tried many things, but it is now worst : I can't load any save without crashing (problem was in the last turn before). Same problem at the end of the last turn. Unable to end that mission, I tried to restart one. Pure virtual function being called while application was running (GisRunning = 1). Once the last Alien killed, just when Avenger debrief' scene was supposed to start : XCOM2 has crashed.

Once the download was done, I restarted the game, enabled Shen's Last Gift mission (not AH) and launched a mission. Played few hours, with no evident problems (all of my ~ 90 mods seemed to work). So I downloaded them while playing (thanks to alternate mod launcher). I also bought Reinforcement Pack, giving me all 3 DLC.

I hope it does the same to you guys.Ok so, yesterday, I downloaded the patch. I've stressed the game for a while now and I've noticed an improvement. The way how I see it is that the developers might've had a library (dll) that is different from the end-user and might have relied on a particuler function which is allowed on their machine but doesn't work well with end-users and so, we need to have the same library for the game to work well.

Note to Devs : If you want a copy of my log, I'll gladly share it through my dropbox.ġ) Disable the Steam UI Overlay in the XCom Steam propertiesĢ) Get vcredist executable to intall/fix redistributable package from Microsoft that might be missing/corrupt from this link -> ģ) Get the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer from Microsoft to fix your DirectX from this link -> The other DirectX issue was weird because from the logs it said that DirectX 11 noped out and it couldn't find it anymore and this line popped up in my log :īuildAgent\work\a78b974cadaf0436\branches\Shipping\XCOM2\Development\Src\Engine\Src\RenderingThread.cpp] I've faced this issue constantly whenever I'm in a mission with a red fog (alert fog). If you're like me and you're facing issues with XCom 2 with pure virtual function error and/or telling you to use a graphics card that supports DirectX 10.1, I might have found the fix.įrom what I've researched, the pure virtual function error is due to the Unreal Engine using one class with a virtual function in its constructor/deconstructor either from a plugin or from the game itself.
